Dzisiejsze Słowo pochodzi z Księgi Rodzaju (Rdz 32, 25 - 29)
Today’s Reading comes from the Gospel according to St. Luke (Luke 23:33-35)
When they came to the place that is called The Skull,
they crucified Jesus there with the criminals,
one on his right and one on his left.
Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his clothing. And the people stood by, watching.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy”.
On the Cross, in a situation of extreme rejection, Jesus prayed with the words: “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”
Ask Jesus why did He do that?
Where did He get His strength from?
Imagine for yourself that you’re standing under the cross, when Jesus forgives his oppressors.
What sort of feelings are born in your heart?
When we get to know Jesus all the more, we start to believe that we can live like He does.
And since He was ready to forgive, then we can too.
